May 2012
So after work i’m going to get myself all prettied up, do my makeup and hair, put on some gorgeous clothes and take lots of pretty photos for you lovely followers.
I’ll also probably be eating sweet things and organising my website and responding to emails and watching some awful John Waters movies. Never let life keep you down for too long, there’s too much good stuff to enjoy, such as the aforementioned! Keep a beautiful smile on your beautiful faces, that’s what i’m trying my damnedest to do today, and so far it’s working. Love to you all

Thanks so much lovie, i intent to make the most of what little sun we get over here, although it seems to have vacated already. As soon as it’s bright again i’m going to start posting outfit of the day photos :) xx
The shoot was at the City Cafe in Edinburgh and the dress is from Collectif clothing. xx
In the mainstream.” —
Today in Edinburgh it was roasting hot, around the 22 degree mark, which if you’re from here or ever visited you’ll know it’s crazy! Because of this sweltering heat, I’ve had to abandon my regular corsets, spanx pants, stockings, tight tops and circle skirts with layers upon layers of petticoats and underskirts. This immediately left me with a bit of a dilemma… what on earth am I supposed to wear? I’m a big girl who always dresses to flatter her figure, but I’ve become so accustomed to wearing similar style outfits every single day i hadn’t accounted for this warmth within my summer wardrobe. My issue was this: how on earth can i still look good, flatter my curves and stay cool?
So, it became time for me to branch out of my comfort zone. It was time for summer shopping. Yesterday i travelled through to Glasgow with the intention of buying some weather-appropriate attire, but i knew from experience that the traditional crop tops, short shorts, hotpants or little tank tops wouldn’t be particularly flattering on my rubenesque frame. This got me thinking about what fat girls do in the summertime, and how they stay looking fabulous. After perusing fatshion blogs around tumblr for a short while I eventually decided to go out on a complete whim and purchased an absolutely beautiful abstract print black and white halter maxi dress. It’s everything I could ever ask for in a summer ensemble; it’s light, airy, cool and most importantly, amazing.
After recovering from the initial shock of having my comforting usual puffy skirts and corsets to hide and disguise my figure with taken away, I soon realized that my body as it is, is still beautiful. I don’t need all the smoke and mirrors to make myself seem pretty to the outside world, I actually am beautiful by myself.
In short, i truly believe that maxi dresses are the way forward for the summer style from now on. And they don’t just look good on big girls either; everyone and anyone can rock a maxi in style regardless of height, weight, size, shape or any other distinguishing factor! It’s all about dressing to flatter your figure, not hiding it behind layers upon layers of clothing and control undies!

They’re from Primark my lovie, only £1!
Go and drink milkshakes topped with whipped cream and sit in the sun and cuddle under a big tree and eat fresh cupcakes and fall asleep in his arms. Damn real life responsibilities!

It is! It’s pink and in a barbie font, it was a wee etsy find, i’ll post photos later on today! xx
An oversized hair bow, a full circle skirt adorned with cupcakes and a necklace that says “cunt” on it. Fashion winning!
Hrm, that is a bit of a tricky one. Orange is one of the colours i stay away from generall because it isn’t flattering to pale skin (unless it’s a beautiful bright citrus colour, in which case bring it on!) I’d ultimately recommend either a completely nude lip and keep the eyes as a summertime chic colour pop or go for an equally bright coral or orangey tinted lipstick and go for all out bright glamour, hope that helps x0
My boyfriend swears by lush products! He uses bath bombs, shower jellies and massage bars almost as much as i do! They do have a special range of products that are directed towards men, but if you’re a bit apprehensive you could always pretend like you’re buying gifts for a ladyfriend! xx
For looking after my body and face i use nothing other than Lush products.
I use their shower jellies, bath bombs, massage bars, perfumes, bubble bars, face masks and lip scrubs every single day without fail. My favourites of their products and highlights of the plethora of wonderful things on offer include the “Love” solid block perfume which has a distinctly musty fruity spicy twang that catches the nostrils and makes them say “Ooh!” the “Catastrophe Cosmetic” blueberry infused face mask -wonderful for those bad skin days that plague us all- and “The Comforter” bubble bar which turns a mundane, beige bathtime into a pink, frilly, marshmallow fluff fountain of wonderment.
Now, not only do Lush sell some of the best bath products in the entire flippin’ world, but they are one of the greenest companies around, making a point to recycle as much as they possibly can and also have a staunch “no testing on animals” which you can read more about Here.
I’d recommend Lush products to absolutely anyone and everyone. They make the best gifts and little treats to yourself ever and you can feel good about your role in supporting important causes such as the prevention of pollution and animal testing whilst you soak up the sweet smelling fabulousness.

My idea of heaven. Mhmmm….
